Android games should focus on quick and easy access, right?

For me, quick access is everything now. If a game doesn’t open fast, I just don’t bother. I mostly use my phone in short breaks anyway, so timing matters. Even a few extra seconds can be annoying sometimes. I’ve deleted a lot of apps because of that. Do you feel the same about mobile games?

I agree with you. It’s not really about being impatient, it’s more about how we use phones now. Most of the time I open games during short breaks, so I expect them to start almost immediately. If not, I lose interest fast. I came across this article https://xrlinx.com/blog/why-easy-game-access-matters-more-on-android/ and it actually describes that behavior pretty well. If the first experience feels heavy or confusing, I usually don’t give it another chance, even if the game itself could be good later.

It seems like the way people use their mobile devices has definitely evolved, leading to different expectations for app engagement. The necessity for instant access and minimal setup is becoming a key factor in user retention across all mobile software, not just games. It highlights a broader shift in how technology caters to our daily routines and limited free time, making convenience a prime consideration for developers.
