The President, on behalf of the Government and the people of Kenya, extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Rt. Hon. Odinga, and to all Kenyans who mourn the loss of a visionary leader whose courage, conviction, and dedication to public service transformed the course of our nation\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

In honour of his extraordinary contribution to Kenya\u2019s political and social progress, the President has declared a period of national mourning, during which the national flag shall be flown at half-mast across the Republic until the day of his interment.<\/p>\n

The Government will, in consultation with the family, accord the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga a State Funeral befitting his immense service and sacrifice to the nation.<\/p>\n

May his soul rest in eternal peace.<\/p>\n
